- Tarımsal Biyoteknoloji ana bilim dalı altında seçmiş olduğu uzmanlık alanında yeterli teorik ve pratik bilgiye sahip olmak, arazi koşulları ve laboratuvar şartlarında uyulması gereken çalışma disiplinine sahip olmak.
- Çalışma konularının seçimi ve uygulamasında mesleki ve bilimsel etik kurallarını takip etmek.
- Seçmiş olduğu uzmanlık alanında bir sorunu tespit edip, o konuda deneme kurup, çalışmayı yürütüp, sonuçlandırma ve verileri değerlendirebilme becerisine sahip olmak.
- Yürüttüğü çalışmada karşılaştığı teknik ve bilimsel sorunlar karşısında çözüm önerileri geliştirebilme tecrübesine sahip olmak.
- Uzmanlık alanı ile ilgili ulusal ve uluslararası literatürleri takip edebilmek.
