| Giriş Şartı | Tezli yüksek lisans programı için ALES’ten en az 55 puan almak gerekmektedir. Yüksek lisans programlarına öğrenci kabulündeki değerlendirmede, ALES puanının % 65’i, lisans not ortalamasının % 25’i ve yabancı dil puanının % 10’u alınarak toplanır. Bu toplamın en az 60 puan olması gerekir. ÜDS ya da Üniversitelerarası Kurulca kabul edilen bir sınavdan yabancı dil belgesi bulunmayan adayların, yabancı dil puanı sıfır (0) kabul edilerek hesaplama yapılır. Bu taban puanın üstündeki adaylar, en yüksek puandan itibaren sıralanarak ilan edilen kontenjanlara göre ilgili programlara yerleştirilir. Toplam puan eşitliği durumunda lisans ortalaması yüksek olan aday tercih edilir. Bilimsel Hazırlık: Sosyoloji bölümü dışından mezun olan ve yüksek lisans programına başvuran adaylar için bir (1) yıllık bilim hazırlık programı öngörülmektedir. Bu süre zarfında adayların mezun oldukları bölüm ve transkiripleri dikkate alınarak en az 12 en fazla 24 krediden oluşan bilim hazırlık programı uygulanacaktır. | |
| Başarma Şartları | Program toplam 24 krediden az olmamak koşuluyla en az yedi adet ders, bir seminer dersi ve tez çalışmasından oluşur. Yüksek lisans öğrenim programı zorunlu ve seçmeli derslerden oluşur. Programın toplam AKTS kredisi 120'dir. Arasınav ve final sınavlarının yanı sıra derslerde raporlar, ödevler, quizler, seminer sunumları ve proje çalışmaları gibi öğrenme aktiviteleri öğrencinin yarıyıl içindeki performans değerlendirmesinde kullanılabilir. Öğrencinin ilgili dersten başarılı sayılabilmesi için bu notun en az 100 üzerinden 70 olması gerekir. Öğrenci başarısız olduğu derslere, tekrar kayıt yaptırabileceği gibi danışmanının onayladığı başka lisansüstü dersler de alabilir. Ayrıca dersler danışman ve ilgili enstitü anabilim dalı başkanlığının önerisi ve Enstitü Yönetim Kurulu onayı ile diğer yükseköğretim kurumlarında verilmekte olan derslerden seçilebilir. Öğrencinin alacağı derslerin en çok iki tanesi, lisans öğrenimi sırasında alınmamış olması koşuluyla, lisans derslerinden seçilebilir. Seminer dersi ve tez çalışması yerel kredi sistemine göre kredisiz olup başarılı veya başarısız olarak değerlendirilir. Öğrenci, en geç üçüncü yarıyılın başından itibaren her yarıyıl tez çalışmasına kayıt yaptırmak zorundadır. Tezli yüksek lisans programındaki bir öğrenci tezi ile ilgili elde ettiği sonuçları, ilgili enstitünün tez yazım kurallarına uygun biçimde yazmak ve tezini jüri önünde sözlü olarak savunmak zorundadır. Tez sınavının tamamlanmasından sonra jüri tez hakkında salt çoğunlukla kabul, red veya düzeltme kararı verir. Tezi hakkında düzeltme kararı verilen öğrenci en geç üç ay içinde gereğini yaparak tezini aynı jüri önünde tekrar savunur. Bu savunma sonunda da tezi kabul edilmeyen öğrencinin kaydı silinir. | |

| Access Requirements | In order to apply the Master's programme with thesis, candidates are required to get a minimum of 55 from ALES (the Academic Staff and Graduate Study Education Exam conducted by Student Selection and Placement Center, OSYM) and a minimum of 60 points in the total of 65% of the ALES, 25% of the average mark of an undergraduate programme and 10% of a foreign language proficiency exam. In case where a certificate of the result of ÜDS or alternative foreign language exam approved by the Institution of Higher Education (YÖK) is not submitted, the mark of foreign language profıcıency will be calculated as zero (0). Candidates who have the highest marks will be accepted to the programme according to the quota announced earlier. When the accumulated points of multiple candidates are equal, a candidate who has the higher point in the average mark of an undergraduate programme is prioritized. Preparatory Courses: Candidates of non-sociology graduates may be required to take preparatory courses for one (1) year. Preparatory courses may be completed with the credits ranging from the minimum 12 to the maximum 24 depending on a discipline which a candidate studied in the undergraduate programme and his or her transcript. | |
| Conditions for Success | The Programme requires a minimum of seven compulsory and elective courses, one seminar and Thesis Work with a minimum of 24 credits or 120 AKTS credits. A student's academic performance can be evaluated in multiple ways such as assignment, report, in-class quiz and presentation as well as midterm and final exams. A student is required to get a minimum of 70 out of 100 in order to pass a course. A student can repeat the courses which s/he failed or take other courses in the Programme approved by the supervisor. It is also possible to choose postgraduate courses provided by other institutions of higher education on the conditions of the proposals of the supervisor and the Chair of the Programme and the approval of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School. A student may take the maximum of two undergraduate courses on the condition that the courses have not been taken during the undergraduate program. Seminar and Thesis Work are non-credit courses and evaluated in terms of pass or failed. A student must be registered for Thesis Work every semester after no later than the third semester. A student who has completed work on the thesis within the time period, must write a thesis by using the data collected according to the specifications of the Graduate School Thesis Writing Guide. The thesis must be defended in front of a jury. A majority vote by the jury members determines the outcome of the thesis or examination. The vote can be for "acceptance", "rejection" or "correction". A student may be given, by a decision of the Administrative Committee of the Graduate School, up to three months to complete the corrections. The student must then defend the thesis again in front of the jury. In case of the failure of this oral examination, the student is expelled from the Master's Programme. | |
