It is a higher education program that spans eight semesters based on secondary education qualifications and provides education focused on a specific field of study or profession.

Our department is a higher education program designed to train potential managers with effective decision-making skills required by the economic, legal, and social environment in which businesses operate. This program is conducted within the framework of regulations set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) based on secondary education qualifications and admits students through the central examination system called ÖSYS. In order to complete the program, students must successfully pass all compulsory and elective courses, amounting to a total of 240 ECTS credits (equivalent to eight semesters, excluding the preparatory year).

In the Business Administration program (with 30% English instruction) education and training are conducted in a formal (face to face) education format.

1. Understands fundamental concepts and theories of business science and related disciplines, gaining practical knowledge of business phenomena.

2. Develops cognitive and practical skills in the field, approaching business phenomena analytically and acquiring rational and critical problem-solving abilities.

3. Acquires the ability to manage projects independently and demonstrates competence in working autonomously and taking responsibility in the field.

4. Possesses learning competence, identifying learning needs and keeping knowledge, skills, and competencies up to date.

5. Communicates effectively in the program's language of instruction, demonstrating communication and social competence in the field.

6. Effectively utilizes information technologies and conducts business processes using digital tools.

7. Interprets financial statements, evaluates the financial position of a business, and develops financial decision-making skills.

8. Understands customer needs through marketing research, effectively implements marketing plans, and manages production processes to enhance business efficiency and quality.

9. Possesses the skills and knowledge to take on leadership and management roles in businesses effectively.

10. Has knowledge of legal processes in businesses and understands corporate responsibility regarding sustainability and ethical issues.

There are nine types of exams, which include: midterm exam, final exam, placement exam, exemption exam, single-course exam, make-up exam, resit exam, additional exam, and unlimited exam. These exams can be conducted in written, oral, and/or practical formats. The dates and formats of the exams, as determined by the relevant faculty or school administration, are announced by the respective departments at least two weeks prior to the exams.

Assessment of Course Success

The evaluation of a student’s success in a course is determined by considering:

• Midterms, assignments, practical applications, and project work, which contribute to the semester's in-term success score.
• Final exam performance, which is combined with the in-term success score.

During the assessment, class performance levels, statistical distribution of grades, and class average are taken into account. This is referred to as relative grading, which determines the student’s final course grade.

Grading Criteria:

• Students who score below 35% on either the final exam or the raw success score (calculated from the in-term and final exam grades) automatically receive an FF grade, regardless of relative grading.
• Students with a raw success score above 65% but a relative grade of DC or below automatically receive a CC grade.
• Students with a raw success score above 95% but a relative grade lower than AA automatically receive an AA grade.

The final exam’s contribution to the overall course grade can be 40%, 50%, or 60%, depending on the course. For compulsory common courses, the final exam contributes 60% to the course grade. The specific weight of the final exam and in-term success is determined by the course instructor and the relevant academic board and is communicated to students in advance.

Grading Scale and Passing Conditions:

a) Students who receive AA, BA, BB, CB, or CC are considered to have passed the course.
b) DC and DD indicate conditional pass, meaning the student may need to improve performance in future semesters.
c) Students who receive DZ, GR, FD, FF, or YZ are considered to have failed and must retake the course in the next available semester.
d) DZ (Absenteeism Grade) is given to students who fail to meet attendance requirements. These students are not eligible to take the final exam.
e) GR (Absent Grade) is given to students who qualify for the final exam but do not attend. This grade is assigned regardless of in-term performance.
f) DZ and GR grades are treated as FF and affect the cumulative GPA accordingly.
g) YT (Satisfactory Grade) is given for non-credit courses and does not affect GPA.
h) YZ (Unsatisfactory Grade) is assigned for failure in non-credit courses.
i) MU (Exemption Grade) is awarded to students who successfully pass exemption exams.
j) MZ (Excused Grade) is given to students who miss the final exam due to a valid excuse, as approved by the academic board.

To Ensure the Quality of Higher Education Programs:

• YÖK (Council of Higher Education) is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and supervising education, training, and other activities carried out in higher education institutions.
• Within the framework of the criteria determined by YÖK, “University Monitoring and Evaluation Reports” are prepared annually for higher education institutions. Based on these reports, quantitative and qualitative evaluations of higher education institutions are compiled and shared with the public by YÖK.
• Every year, YÖK publishes the “Foundation Higher Education Institutions Report”, which includes academic, administrative, and financial data related to foundation higher education institutions. These reports, containing quantitative and qualitative evaluations of foundation higher education institutions, are also shared with the public by YÖK.

The quality assurance of undergraduate programs is ensured in accordance with the "Procedures and Principles for Ensuring the Quality Assurance of Higher Education Diploma Programs":

1. Development and Approval of Academic Programs

1.1. YÖK determines the minimum standards and criteria required for the establishment of undergraduate departments and programs in higher education institutions.

1.2. The curricula of undergraduate programs and the learning outcomes that each program is expected to provide to students are determined by the senates of higher education institutions in compliance with the fundamental principles set by YÖK.

1.3. The curriculum of National Core Education Programs is implemented by higher education institutions after being approved by YÖK, following its acceptance by the relevant Deans' Council.

2. Assessment and Evaluation

The methods for assessing and evaluating the learning outcomes that each undergraduate program is expected to provide are carried out according to the Education and Examination Regulations prepared by higher education institutions, in line with the fundamental principles set by YÖK.

3. Certification

Students enrolled in undergraduate programs receive a bachelor’s degree upon successfully completing the course credits and other requirements determined by higher education institutions.

4. Self-Assessment and External Evaluation

Higher education institutions, as part of continuous monitoring, enter their "Institutional Self-Evaluation Reports" for the previous year into the Information System prepared by the Higher Education Quality Council (YÖKAK) at the beginning of each year. YÖKAK shares the "Institutional Feedback Report", which includes the external evaluation of higher education institutions, with the public. Additionally, accreditation decisions made by accreditation bodies authorized or recognized by YÖKAK serve as evidence that programs meet the quality assurance standards. In accordance with YÖKAK regulations, regular review activities are conducted to assess compliance with established qualifications.

The Business Administration Program was accredited by the Social Humanities Fundamental Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association (STAR) between 22.04.2024 and 22.04.2028.

1. Candidates must be graduates of secondary education institutions or foreign secondary education institutions recognized as equivalent by the Ministry of National Education and must meet the admission requirements for undergraduate programs in higher education institutions.
2. The final registration of students placed in the Business Administration undergraduate program by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Center (ÖSYM) is carried out in accordance with Law No. 2547 and the principles set by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Registration procedures are managed by the Student Affairs Directorate of the university.
3. Students can also be admitted under the "Regulation on Transfer Between Associate Degree and Undergraduate Programs, Double Major, Minor, and Credit Transfer Between Institutions in Higher Education Institutions."
4. Students from vocational schools and open education associate degree programs can also be admitted through the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS), in accordance with the "Regulation on the Continuation of Vocational School and Open Education Associate Degree Graduates to Undergraduate Education."

Students who successfully complete their undergraduate education may pursue graduate (master’s with thesis and doctoral) programs, provided that they obtain a qualifying score in the ALES exam and demonstrate sufficient proficiency in a foreign language. Additionally, undergraduate students have the right to participate in double major programs offered by their higher education institutions. Students enrolled in a double major program take courses from two diploma programs simultaneously and, if successful, can obtain two separate bachelor’s degrees.
