Attendance to at least 70% of the theoretical, 80 % of the practical courses is mandatory to enter final exams. The score for fail/pass is based on 40% of the Mid-term and 60% of the final exam. All exams are evaluated over 100 points. Student should take 70 at minimum, in final exam. Every student is obliged to renew his /her registration for each term.The doctorate programme consists of a minimum of seven courses with a minimum of 21 national credits and 180 ECTS, a qualifying examination, a dissertation proposal, and a dissertation. The period allotted for the completion of the Doctorate programmes is normally eight semesters (four years).The minimum and maximum period to complete master program are 6 and 12 semesters, respectively for the students who were accepted with a Master degree. The requirements for application to the postgraduate PhD programme are as follows: They must have 1) a Master degree, 2) a YDS score of minimum 55 or equivalent score in one of the foreign language exams whose equivalency are recognised by Inter-university Board. Foreign students must have English, French or German YDS or equivalent score other than their native language. Detailed information for that can be found in the web page of Dicle University Institute of Natural and Applied Science and all conditions in this page are valid. 3) An ALES exam or another equivalent score. b) Principles of Evaluation for Doctorate programme are as follows: 1) Applicants’ success grades are calculated by adding 70 % of their ALES (Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Education Entrance Exam) score, 20 % of their BSc degree GPA (General Point Average) for BSc candidates and 20 % of average of their BSc degree GPAand MSc degree GPA for MSc candidates, and 10 % of their Foreign Language Exam score, beginning with those who get the highest total success grade depending on the quotas of the programmes. In case of equality, the one having higher ALES and foreign language score totally is given priority. Graduates may apply to the following main fields of work or employment; Research; Biologists might join a research team in a university, research institutes, research and development departments of private and public sector. Another largest area of employment for biologists is industry such as pharmaceutical, agricultural, medical, natural and environmental, food, and brewing, etc. that offers a wide variety of work from laboratory based research. Health; the laboratories of the Public and Private hospitals. Education; they can work as teacher in public schools and private courses as well as the univeristy lecturers . Graduates may apply for a wide range of positions associated with laboratories, food İndustry, medicinal and agricultural industry, pharmaceutical marketing and sales, national parks, Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Rural Development, Ministry of Environment, and related departments, as biologist, teacher, technician, researcher, production manager,quality controller, quality assurance,and marketing and sales etc.
