• Upon the successful completion of this programme, the students will be able to:Explain the fundamental concepts in peace and conflict studies within the associated social sciences and relate these concepts together.
• Do the quantitative and qualitative research methods and skills necessary for analyzing theories for the purpose of contributing towards non-violent solutions to violent conflict.
• Use the ability to map individual conflicts with precision, and apply the appropriate strategic peacebuilding processes.
• Develop the ability to design peace initiatives and present in writing, as a report, and verbally, the knowledge acquired through critical analysis.
• Demonstrate the practical skills necessary to guide conflict resolution, reconciliation, and reconstruction processes within the framework of human rights and social justice.
• Develop the psychological ability to keep an open-minded attitude towards new ideas and developments.
• Relate the knowledge gained through education to the cultural and historical characteristics of society.
• Develop life-long learning and critical-thinking skills.
• Specialize further in some of the sub-disciplines of peace and conflict studies, and to gain interdisciplinary analytical skills by making connections between those sub-disciplines and other social sciences.
• Maintain social and ethical standards when collecting, interpreting, and disseminating information, and in the application of peace and social justice processes.

Academic staff can use various assessment methods, including written exams, projects and presentations. In-class achievement is measured using the success grades stated below in the Social Sciences University of Ankara Graduate Education and Examination Regulations (https://www.asbu.edu.tr/en/mevzuat). In order to be accepted to this programme, students must: Have an undergraduate degree. Have a minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 Have a minimum score of 55 on ALES (Verbal or Equally Weighted) or an equivalent GMAT score. Prove proficiency in English (A minimum score of 80 on ÜDS/KPDS/YDS/TOEFL/e-YDS or a minimum score of 90 on YÖKDİL English Exam.) There is no tuition fee for Turkish candidates. International candidates are required to pay tuition fee and application fee. Current tuition fee is 15.000,00 TL for each year. Application fee is 100,00 TL. The application fee of those candidates who are not accepted to the program will not be refunded. Fees can be paid into bank account with IBAN TR76 0001 2009 4110 0006 0000 14.

Those students who graduate from this programme may be employed in all the public and private sectors, as well as at Universities and non-govermental institutions.
