Ancak, dersin özelliği nedeniyle sınavın sözlü, hem yazılı hem sözlü ya da uygulamalı yapılmasına öğretim elemanının önerisi ile birim akademik kurulu karar verir. Sözlü sınavlar, ders vermeye yetkili en az iki öğretim elemanı katılımıyla yapılır. Öğrenci, bir günde o döneme/yıla ait en fazla iki dersin sınavına alınabilir; uzaktan eğitim programları ve Atatürk İlkeleri ve İnkılap Tarihi, Türk Dili, İş Sağlığı ve Güvenliği ve Yabancı Dil dersleri ile mazeret sınavları için bu şart aranmaz. Sınıf geçme sistemi uygulanan fakültelerde yapılacak sınavların sayısı, ilanı, uygulama ve değerlendirme usulleri Senato tarafından ayrıca belirlenir. Öğrenciler, sınava ilan edilen gün, saat ve yerde girmek ve öğrenci kimlik belgeleri ile istenen diğer belgeleri yanlarında bulundurmak zorundadır. Üniversitede ders geçme sisteminin uygulandığı birimlerde, bir dersin başarı puanı dönem içi değerlendirme puanının %40’ı ile dönem sonu veya bütünleme sınavından alınan puanın %60’ının toplamıdır. Hesaplama sonucu çıkan buçuklu sayı, tam sayıya yükseltilir. Bir dersten başarılı sayılabilmek için dönem/yılsonu veya bütünleme sınav puanının en az 50 olması gerekir. Başarı notu, öğrencilerin dönem/yıl içi etkinlikler ile dönem/yılsonu sınavından aldıkları notların öngörülen ağırlıklara göre hesaba katılmasıyla belirlenen ham başarı notunun 4’lük not sistemindeki karşılığını ifade eder. Öğrencilerin başarı notunun hesaplanmasında bağıl veya mutlak değerlendirme sistemi kullanılır. Birimlerde mutlak ve bağıl değerlendirme sistemlerinden hangisinin kullanılacağı birim kurulunun önerisi ve Senato onayı belirlenir. Bağıl ve mutlak değerlendirme sistemlerine ilişkin ölçme ve değerlendirme esasları, bağıl değerlendirme sisteminde başarı notu hesaplamasına katılma koşul ve sınırları ile başarı dereceleri hakkındaki esaslar Senato tarafından belirlenir.
