Bu programın amacı, donanımlı teknik personele olan ihtiyaca cevap verecek düzeye sahip ameliyathane teknikerleri yetiştirmektedir
- Teorik alan bilgilerini uygulamada kullanabilir.
- Alan terminolojisini etkin kullanabilir.
- Alanıyla ilgili temel mesleki yasal mevzuata uygun davranabilir.
- Alanıyla ilgili konularda bilişim ve iletişim teknolojilerini kullanabilme, mesleki bilgilerini yazılı, sözlü/sözsüz iletişim yoluyla aktarabilir.
- Toplumsal, bilimsel, kültürel ve mesleki etik değerleri ifade edebilir.
- Kalite yönetimi ve süreçlerine uygun davranıp bu süreçlere katılabilir.

- Ameliyat odasını cerrahi işlem için hazırlayabilir.
- Hastanın ameliyat odasına alınmasına ve ameliyat sonrası nakline yardımcı olabilir.
- Cerrahi işlem sırasında hekimin uygun gördüğü şekilde cerrahi ekibe dahil olabilir.
- Ameliyat sonrası cerrahi aletleri ve malzemeleri yeniden kullanıma hazır hale getirebilir.
Programdan mezun olanlar, kamu ve özel sektörde yer alan sağlık kurum ve kuruluşları bünyesinde bulunan "ameliyathanelerde" "ameliyathane teknikeri" olarak çalışabilirler.
