Description | - Become knowledgeable about various language teaching methodologies developed throughout the history of language teaching and prepare lesson plans appropriate for these methods and apply them in their teaching. - Make an indepth analysis of mythology, Classic, and Neo-Classic art insights that form a base for Western culture; in addition, perceive and assess those events which influenced the Western history such as Renaissance and Reformation. - Comprehend theories developed in the scope of various scientific fields such as education and psychology, which have influenced the teaching of German language and their reflections on pedagogy. - Talk about the theories and the problems and their solutions in the field of second/foreign language acquisition. - Demonstrate knowledge of critical approaches and methods of interpretation, including literary vocabulary and terminology. - Get detailed information on the periods, writers and works of German Literature. At least one 1hr mid-term and one 2hr final plus a completion (in case final grades are insufficient) examination is administerd by the instructor. Course grades are based on term work (30 %) and final (or completion) exam (70 %) results. A student in MS (PhD) program is considered successful if course grade is at least 65 (75), out of 100.
