• Knowledge of the sub-branches of psychology; a grasp of the relations between psychology and the social, biological and technical sciences; knowledge of the basic concepts and the relations between the concepts, the content and the basic methods in these fields; and develop the ability to arrive at original definitions and explanations using the concepts and methods; the ability to critically evaluate the importance of the multidisciplinary approach for scientific progress; and the ability to undertake interpretations and analyses using the multidisciplinary approach.
• Development of the ability to obtain original sources of information using textbooks, instruments of practice and written and visual documents; to use these in defining theoretical and applied knowledge; to understand and make inferences and compare, analyze, synthesize and critically evaluate information; and to develop the skills and knowledge required to predict the implications of these endeavors on applied work.
• Development of the ability to use advanced theoretical and practical knowledge and scientific approaches, methods and techniques used in psychology; and to develop the ability to verbally express these, to analyze previous studies in terms of their research approach, methods and techniques, to compare and criticize studies in terms of their advantages and disadvantages, to critically evaluate information in terms of cause and effect, to discuss and evaluate data, predict and control probable research errors, decide on the best methods and techniques for prospective studies, and to analyze and criticize the consequences of these decisions.
• Knowledge of the ethical principles of research and publication and the ethical principles in the applied areas of psychology; knowledge of appropriate behaviors in light of these ethical principles; the development of a critical approach to ethics; and knowledge of appropriate behaviors based on social, scientific, cultural and ethical values while gathering, interpreting and reporting data and during applications on healthy and clinical populations.
• Development of the ability to use theoretical and applied knowledge, logical, intuitive and creative thinking skills, and at-large psychological skills to define and analyze problems, propose solutions based on empirical evidence, and define relevant tasks to solve problemsDevelopment of the ability to plan and prepare independent research projects pertaining to the effects of psychological, social and biological conditions on behavior; the ability to implement and direct an advanced study on these topics; and the ability to perform advanced data analyses, make inferences from the results, evaluate the practical implications of the findings and apply the findingsIn a socially responsible manner, development of the ability to plan and conduct psychological projects and activities to solve unpredicted psychological, biological and social problems in applied areas of psychology; to take responsibility as an individual and as a team member; to feel the responsibility to accomplish the tasks one has undertaken; and to solve field-related problems individually or as part of a team.
• Development of the ability to critically evaluate the acquired knowledge and skills in psychology; to detect deficiencies with respect to psychological information and skills; to guide one’s own learning by identifying what one needs to learn; to understand how to learn what; and to canalize one’s learning to an advanced level of education or occupation.

(1) During a semester, students are given at least one mid-term and one final examination for each class. Evaluations may also include assignments, projects, laboratory work and other similar activities. The final examination is administered in a written form. When special circumstances arise, oral or oral-verbal examinations can be administered upon the approval of the board of directors of the relevant faculty/vocational school. The final score is based on the midterm examination, the final examination and the other activities, if there are any.(2) The weight of the final examination on the final grade cannot be under 40% or over 70%. Citizens of Turkish Republic: High School Diploma and the required score on the University Entrance Exam administered by the Higher Education Council of Turkey. Foreign Student Admission: High School Diploma, High School Exit Exam ratified by the Higher Education Council (Abitur, International Baccalaureate, GCE, Tawjihi, etc.) or the exams taken in the last two years and considered equivalent to the University Entrance Exam (SAT, EFS, etc.).
